You want to be more present in your life, able to truly enjoy the people and things around you, but instead, you feel overwhelmed by anxiety, burnout, grief, or disconnection. You work hard and push through, trying to be everything to everyone, but it leaves you exhausted. Despite your best efforts, old patterns from childhood or past relationships keep resurfacing. You find yourself personalizing feedback or comments from your boss, partner, kids, family, or friends, and it leaves you feeling even more alone and unsure. You are realizing something needs to change, but aren’t sure where to start and what you’ve tried in the past isn’t working now. If any of this resonates with you, I would be honored to be a part of your journey.
Life is incredibly complex, and the expectations we carry, especially those amplified by the online world, can make it feel impossible to measure up. During seasons of transition or challenge, past wounds and internalized beliefs often resurface, making it hard to quiet the noise and find a way forward. This can lead to shame spiraling and self-doubt, where you feel stuck between who you are and who you want to be. Our culture demands so much, yet often offers so little tangible support.
I’m here to offer some of that support. My practice is built around creating a space where you feel truly seen, deeply cared for, and safe to explore whatever you're carrying. Together, we’ll look at the roots of what’s going on, identify your needs and goals, understand your patterns, and working together to transform negative beliefs into a fuller, truer story so you can live a fuller, more connected life. Times of transition can be overwhelming, but also offer a unique opportunity to make impactful changes.
“There are truly times when the best, healthiest, most productive thing we can do is not to try harder, but rather to try softer: to compassionately listen to our needs so we can move through pain—and ultimately life—with more gentleness and resilience.”
I’ve known for a long time that I wanted to be a counselor, even as I explored other avenues of nonprofit work along the way. I believe some of our deepest pain-and deepest healing-happens in relationships. Counseling offers a powerful path to healing through authentic, nonjudgmental connection. If you’ve ever felt like you’re too much for the people around you, I’d love to be a safe place for you to land.
I hold a Bachelor’s in Psychology from Washington and Lee University and a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Denver Seminary. Over the past 10 years, I’ve specialized in helping individuals navigate anxiety, stress, trauma, grief, relational hurts, attachment wounds, life transitions, motherhood, and strengthening sense of self and identity. I additionally work with parents and couples, especially who are working to set a firm foundation or consider changes. I’m EMDR certified and integrate traditional therapeutic approaches with EMDR and creative techniques, depending on my clients' needs and preferences. Within these broad categories I have additional specific experience with infertility, loss, abusive relationships, ministry/nonprofit work, burnout, perfectionism, and toxic work environments to name a few.
I believe true transformation begins when we have the courage to begin authoring our own stories, putting words to our experiences in the presence of someone who truly sees and supports us. You don’t have to have it all figured out or feel fully ready. All you need is the hope that things can be different.
In our work together, we’ll explore how your unique story has shaped your self-perception, relationships, nervous system, and reactions. Our work might include developing healthy coping tools, building tolerance for distressing or difficult emotions, processing relational patterns, or using EMDR to rewire trauma responses. I will work with you to create a personalized plan based on your needs, desires, and goals.
I welcome clients from all backgrounds and belief systems. For those with a Christian worldview, I’m trained in and enjoy integrating faith into the counseling process for those who desire it. Regardless of your beliefs, you’ll find a respectful, compassionate space where your story is honored.
If you are ready for things to be different and want to begin connecting the pieces of your story, I invite you to reach out. My hope for you is to feel fully present in your life, even in the midst of its challenges, in a way that brings more joy and contentment. It would be an honor to hear your story and walk alongside you in this season, whatever it may hold.
