You’re trying to appear like you have it all together - juggling the various expectations to live up to all the roles you have to play. Underneath it all, you’re struggling to just make it through the day, and you’re not sure how much longer you can keep it up. Confused as to why you can’t “get it together,” frustrated at the fact that you’re not who you want to be, and afraid that it all might come crashing down - you’re overwhelmed, scared, and completely exhausted. If this describes how you feel, you’re not alone and I am here to help!

Even in your relationships, there are echoes of past wounds that seemingly sabotage what you have and keep you from having the relationships you desire. It’s a script you can’t seem to shake and you feel haunted by the shadows of the past. Unfortunately, life and relationships don’t stop for us to take a break and deal with our history of hurts, and often we’re not even sure where to start. We find bandages to cover up our wounds so we can push forward - like numbing out or keeping busy, but over time, those temporary bandages don’t suffice, and our old hurts spill over to the present. Life seems like a never-ending loop of pain, loneliness, confusion, and shame.

Whether you’re an individual, a couple, a parent - or all three - you are doing the best you can with what you have - but there’s hope for breaking the cycle of pain you’ve been living in and achieving the freedom you’ve been longing for!

I am here to offer you a safe and welcoming place, where all your hurts, worries, and feelings are accepted. Making the choice to come to therapy is an incredibly brave step and it is a decision to invest in your own life. I am here to honor that bravery and investment. I want to help you gain a better understanding of yourself, so that you can grow to be confident of your identity, purpose, and story. Together, we will work toward uncovering the past hurts that have impacted your current functioning and relationships, healing those hurts with grace and intentionality, and creating new ways of understanding yourself and others. If you are a couple seeking help in your relationship, or parents seeking help with your child, I will walk alongside you as we work towards untangling the web that has slowly eroded what you had. We will uncover the existing pain cycles and tap into new peace cycles. Together, we will understand what it looks like you for to thrive in your relationships, and our therapeutic goals will be centered on what you define as purposeful and meaningful.

Maybe it’s okay if it takes time to be okay. Maybe healing is a road that is lined with endless grace.
— Morgan Harper Nichols

Before becoming a counselor, I worked as a teacher in an inner-city public school where I got to form deep relationships with my students and their families. This is where my passion to come alongside others in their healing-journey really came alive. I saw my students start to flourish as I listened to their stories, got to know who they were underneath how they acted, and helped them tap into their potential. As I watched their growth, I knew then that my calling was to become a counselor. I long to help others gain a better understanding of themselves through an empathetic and genuine relationship.

I obtained my Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education with a minor in Child, Adult, and Family Services at Iowa State University, and my Master’s in Counseling at Dallas Theological Seminary. Throughout my years of experience, I have developed specialties in working with women, couples, and families. I work with women experiencing life transition concerns (pre/post college, break-ups, new relationships), depression and anxiety, complex trauma, relationship concerns (pre/post-marital), family-of-origin concerns, and self esteem issues such as shame, unworthiness, and codependency. I also work with parents through Filial Therapy which focuses on developing strong relationships with their children, as well as with couples through marriage enrichment, conflict resolution, and pre-marital counseling. In my work with couples, I utilize Emotional Focused Therapy, Restoration Therapy, and the Prepare/Enrich assessment.

It would be my privilege to partner alongside you as you invest in yourself and your relationships. I will provide the safe space for you to understand the various pieces of your life and grow in health and confidence.

You don’t need to have it all figured out! Come with your doubts, fears, and worries. All you need is a willingness to step into this process and I will meet you where you are. If you are searching for a place to work towards thriving with purpose and healthy relationships, contact me today. You do not have to go through this alone, I am here to help!
